The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona continues to be one of my favorite offenses to target right now, and the matchup only helps. Emmet Sheehan has flashed talent in the past, but he’s still working his way back into a regular role and has struggled to consistently work deep into games. The Diamondbacks have been one of the more dangerous lineups in baseball when they’re rolling, and they’ve shown they can score in bunches against both starters and bullpens. I’m happy to keep riding them here as a strong tournament stack with plenty of upside.

Seattle Mariners
Sean Manaea is the type of pitcher who can look dominant when he’s locating, but he’s also shown vulnerability when command starts slipping and pitch counts climb. Seattle’s offense has been volatile this season, which should help keep ownership in check, but the power upside remains very real throughout the lineup. This isn’t necessarily a spot I’m building around a ton, but I definitely want some exposure in tournaments because the ceiling is there if Manaea isn’t at his best.
Los Angeles Angels
This feels like one of the cleaner offense spots on the slate. Kyle Freeland has had major issues limiting damage this season, and when runners get on base, things can unravel quickly. The Angels aren’t always the easiest lineup to trust, but they still have enough power throughout the order to capitalize against pitchers who allow contact and struggle to miss bats. I like them as a secondary stack with legitimate upside if they can get to Freeland early.

Los Angeles Dodgers
Even against a familiar division opponent, it’s tough not to have interest in the Dodgers. Eduardo Rodriguez has been better at times this season, but the inconsistency has remained, particularly when traffic starts building on the bases. Los Angeles doesn’t need many opportunities to put together a huge inning, and they’re one of the few offenses capable of breaking a slate regardless of matchup. I don’t expect them to go overlooked, but the upside is too high to ignore.
San Francisco Giants
The Giants continue to swing the bats extremely well, scoring 77 runs over their last 15 games, the most in baseball during that span. That recent form puts them firmly on my radar, especially against a pitcher who is still trying to establish himself at the major league level. Shane Drohan has limited MLB experience, and inexperienced arms against hot offenses are always worth attacking in tournaments. San Francisco won’t always be the flashiest stack on the slate, but they’re playing too well offensively right now to overlook. Strong tournament option with plenty of momentum coming into this matchup.
