The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked. We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Los Ángeles Dodgers
I don’t care about the “revenge narrative” or whatever might be there: Dustin May just isn’t good, and him facing his former team sets up nicely for the Dodgers. He’s been pitching much better over his last few starts than he did at the beginning of the season, but the 5.28 ERA thus far is telling that he’s not quite there yet, so I don’t mind taking some upside chances on Shohei Ohtani, Freddie Freeman, Max Muncy, and the rest.

Milwaukee Brewers
Love the matchup today: Zack Littell has been abysmal, pitching to a 7.85 (not a typo) ERA and 1.74 WHIP in six starts, and those numbers are highlighted by the 13 long balls he’s allowed in just 28 innings so far. Great spot for a somewhat cold (?) offense to get right; start your stacks with Brice Turang, William Contreras, and Sal Frelick.
Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona is in a nice spot today and they’re one of my favorite tournament options. Matthew Boyd isn’t back in form yet (7.00 ERA in four starts) after starting the season on the IL, so this is a perfect spot to take advantage of him. You must start your stacks with Ildemaro Vargas as the dude can’t miss the baseball, and of course Ketel Marte and Corbin Carroll are always in play. A game stack could make some sense here as well with Merrill Kelly being less than effective…and to that end, a Cubs stack is definitely in play (a BONUS SIXTH STACK).

Atlanta Braves
Maybe the team in the best spot today? Kyle Freeland isn’t the best (though the 3.48 ERA is actually good for him), and given the fact that the game is in Colorado AND the Braves are hitting .328 against him with a ..966 OPS in 137 AB (more than a sizable sample size), I don’t mind going right back to them here. Multiple Atlanta hitters have great records against him, including Ozzie Albies, Austin Riley, and Mauricio Dubon, as well as Mike Yastrzemski.
Colorado Rockies
Colorado makes sense here for a couple of reasons. First, they’re at home and we know what the altitude does. Second, they do have solid bats who are hitting well (Mickey Moniak and Troy Johnston are the places I’d start). Lastly, we see the return of Spencer Strider as he’s making his first start of the season, so there definitely could be some rust there even with the stuff he has. Even with the good Atlanta bullpen, I’d consider taking a sprinkle here in your MME mix.
