The 5-4-3 Double Play | Stacks, Matchups, and Value Picks for FanDuel and DraftKings | May 12

The focus of this article is to sort through the myriad of options on larger slates and find not only some solid foundational plays but also some spots that could go overlooked.  We focus on stacks that are solid for small-field and SE as well as overlooked spots for large-field GPPs, and we discuss players that have good past history vs. the pitchers they’re facing.  Our Discord strategy rooms are incredibly active. FIVE DFS MLB Stacks
Arizona Diamondbacks
Arizona should be a popular stack tonight facing Mackenzie Gore who’s been not good this season: he’s allowed 16 earned runs in his last 18 innings and has only gone over five innings twice this season. The Texas bullpen is good as a group, but I think the Diamondbacks should be able to do some damage in this one, especially as they’ve got the fourth best batting average (.270) against LHP this season.

Los Angeles Dodgers
Perfect spot for the Dodgers to have a night: Adrian Houser has a 6.14 ERA on the season (and that’s after allowing just one earned run in six innings in his last outing). They’ve also got a combined .885 OPS against him in 50 AB. However, they’re only averaging four and a half runs per game over the last week, but I don’t think that’s going to take the field off of them in this one, so you can feel comfortable having exposure to them.

Chicago Cubs
The Cubs have the best record in baseball and have had not one but two 10-game winning streaks already this season. You can go right back to them tonight as we want to take advantage of the elite play they have going on. Grant Holmes has been good for the Braves, but the Chicago bats have been hot lately regardless of who they’re facing, so I love them as an elite-upside tournament option this evening.

Seattle Mariners
This to me is one of the best spots on the night: not only do they face Tatsuya Imai who is making his first start in a month after sporting a 7.27 ERA in his first three starts of his career, the Houston bullpen is as we know atrocious (a league-worst 6.05 group ERA). Prime spot for the Seattle offense to go off, and I’d be willing to go over the field on them here.

Minnesota Twins
This could be a slightly under-the-radar play here, especially if people flock more toward the Miami offense with Bailey Ober on the ill. Eury Perez has allowed 11 earned runs in his last 15 innings while the Twins are averaging five-plus runs a game over the last two weeks, and they’ve got a couple of hot bats in that lineup. Could easily go heavy on the mini-stack side here, but have some shares in your MME main stack as well.
