DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – April 7

NHL Building Blocks – April 7

Congratulations to the new greatest goal scorer in hockey history as Ovie notched #895 yesterday afternoon.  Tough to follow that excitement, but time marches on with a nice little five-gamer to start off our week.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – April 7
The Goalie
: Darcy Kuemper
Kuemper (28-10-7 / 2.03 / .922) is in a good spot tonight at home against Seattle; the Kings have won four in a row and eight of their last 10 (allowing just 17 goals during that stretch), and they continue to have one of the best defenses in the league.

The Center: Robert Thomas
Thomas has four goals and 15 assists during his eight-game point streak, and though the Blues have a tough matchup against Winnipeg, I like having some shares of a player who is streaking.

The Wing: Nikita Kucherov
He’s just three points out of the scoring lead and has two goals and nine assists in his last five games.

The Defenseman: Mathias Ekholm
Has stepped up with a goal and six helpers in his last five games to take some blue line scoring pressure off of Bouchard; in a great spot tonight.

The Value: Jimmy Snuggerud
L1/PP1 for one of the hottest teams right now.

The Stack: TB (Kucherov-Point-Guentzel)
This trio is easily in the conversation for highest upside grouping in the league (110 goals between them), and the Rangers haven’t shown all season that they are their usual good defensive self.
