Four games close out the first week of August, and with the end of the regular season less than two weeks away, every game is important. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – April 6
The Goalie: Sam Montembeault
Monty (28-23-6 / 2.86 / .900) is in a good spot even on the road as the Predators continue to struggle offensively, scoring fewer goals than any team in the league. Montreal is desperate as well, hanging onto the last playoff spot in the East by two points, so grabbing a win here is essential.
The Center: Sidney Crosby
Even though the Pens are way out of the playoffs (and they played last night), Sid had a hat trick yesterday and has 11 goals and nine assists during his 12-game point streak; he’s also got 86 points in 75 games.
The Wing: Boone Jenner
Six goals and three assists during his six-game point streak, and the Blue Jackets have a gettable matchup today.
The Defenseman: Lane Hutson
May have the Calder locked up, but he wants to help his team into the playoffs, and a win today against the disappointing Predators can go a long way toward that goal.
The Value: Dante Fabbro
Two goals and five assists in his past four games.
The Stack: DET (Larkin-Raymond-Kane-Debrincat-Kasper)
Much like Columbus, the Red Wings need to basically win out (and then get some help), but as it’s a smaller slate, I like the leverage that could be gotten here given that Detroit has a little tougher matchup. Mix and match these five.
