NHL Building Blocks – April 3
Nine games on this Thursday evening, with most of them having an impact on playoff seeding and positioning. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – April 3
The Goalie: Jake Oettinger
Oettinger (35-13-5 / 2.47 / .911) will have some viability in any format tonight as the Stars’ defense is very good and the Predators’ offense has been very disappointing, scoring fewer goals than any team in hockey.
The Center: Leon Draisaitl
Looks fully back from his injury and continues to lead the league in goals (and is possibly the frontrunner for the Hart); gets one of the best matchups tonight as well against the Sharks.
The Wing: Kirill Marchenko
Fresh off a hat trick last game and getting an average Avs defense on the second half of a back-to-back; the Blue Jackets need every single point they can get at this point.
The Defenseman: Cale Makar
Definitely the highest-upside defenseman in the best overall game environment. One goal away from 30 on the season as well.
The Value: Jackson Lacombe
Has a six-game point streak (three goals and five assists), and the Ducks’ offense has been picking it up a bit lately.
The Stack: TB (Kucherov-Guentzel-Point)
The Bolts’ offense is rolling (Kuch has 14 points in his last five games and the other two each have four goals and three helpers over that span), and the Senators’ defense isn’t intimidating.
