DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – April 2

NHL Building Blocks – April 2

The playoffs are getting closer, and every game means a lot, with these five being no different.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – April 2
The Goalie
: Mackenzie Blackwood
Everything sets up well for Blackwood (27-18-6 / 2.45 / .916) even on the road as Chicago’s offense is one of the worst in the league.

The Center: Nathan MacKinnon
The league’s leading scorer against one of the league’s worst defenses.  I’m fine with trying to lock in the points.

The Wing: Alex Ovechkin
Ovie is going to get his shots even in a tough matchup on a back-to-back, so I’m always going to have shares of him regardless and he wants to break the record before the season is over.

The Defenseman: Cale Makar
On pace for 30 goals and over 90 points; should be the Norris winner fairly easily and has the highest upside of any blueliner on any slate.

The Value: Kiefer Sherwood
Has 17 goals on the season and is seeing PP2 time.

The Stack: TOR (Matthews-Marner-Nylander-Tavares)
Even though they’re in a little tougher spot than maybe a chalkier team, this quartet has possibly more upside than any in the league, and on a small slate, getting different with some access to ceiling isn’t the worst thing.
