NHL Building Blocks – April 12
Six games tonight as we now have a week left in the season. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – April 12
The Goalie: Connor Hellebuyck
Might be one of Hellebuyck’s (44-12-3 / 2.02 / .924) final regular season starts before the playoffs, and he gets a Blackhawks team that’s just playing out their remaining games. It’s an important game as well since Winnipeg can clinch home ice throughout the entire playoffs with a win.
The Center: Tomas Hertl
Getting extra time with Eichel still out, and he’s been every bit worth why they traded for him last season. Good spot against a bad Predators team.
The Wing: Mitch Marner
The Leafs’ leading scorer (97 points) has an outside chance at 100 in a contract year, and they’d love to delay their rivals’ playoff-clinching win.
The Defenseman: Lane Hutson
The future is bright in Montreal with Hutson, who’s got 64 points in 78 games and is likely to win the Calder.
The Value: Brett Howden
Has 22 goals on the season; decently priced for the increased ice time in Eichel’s absence.
The Stack: WPG (Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi)
Might have the best matchup on the slate against Chicago, and the Jets by record are the best in the league, so they’ll want to keep things moving in the right direction as they gear up for a Cup run.
