NHL Building Blocks – March 16
We wrap up the week with five games. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – March 16
The Goalie: Connor Hellebuyck
Hellebuyck (39-9-3 / 1.97 / .927) is a lock for the Vezina and is going to get some Hart consideration. Seattle’s offense is fine, but the Jets’ defense is elite, so even on the road and on a small slate, I’m rolling with him.
The Center: Leon Draisaitl
Four goals and four assists in his last five games and is currently in the middle of a 17-game point streak (14 goals and 12 assists during).
The Wing: Kyle Connor
Two goals last game to bring him to 35 on the season (third in the league), and he’s on pace for 103 points.
The Defenseman: Noah Dobson
The Isles are having a down year, but he’s got a solid floor and the Panthers are on the second half of a back-to-back.
The Value: Zac Jones
Seeing PP1 time and in a good game environment.
The Stack: WPG (Connor-Scheifele-Vilardi)
This trio has combined for 97 goals (and mixing in Ehlers and his 21 is a solid option as well), and Seattle’s defense is solid but not spectacular. There might be a couple of better-on-paper spots tonight, but on a small slate, getting a little different isn’t the worst thing.
