NHL Building Blocks – March 15
Saturday night brings us eight games on the slate. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – March 15
The Goalie: Thatcher Demko
Demko (6-6-3 / 2.87 / .891) hasn’t been his usual sharp self quite yet this season, though the same can be said for the Canucks as a whole. Still, they get one of the better matchups tonight at home as the Blackhawks come to town.
The Center: Auston Matthews
Been slumping a smidge by his standards, but he’s got a great floor regardless.
The Wing: Artemi Panarin
Five goals and four assists during his six-game point streak and in a nice spot tonight.
The Defenseman: Zach Werenski
Worth shares on any slate, and this is a great game environment for such a high floor/ceiling combo as both teams are fighting for a playoff spot. He leads the team in scoring and averages three and a half shots per game.
The Value: Jackson Blake
L1 and PP1 with Aho and Jarvis.
The Stack: FLA (Reinhart-Barkov-Verhaeghe)
The Panthers have a good matchup tonight, one that might go a little overlooked, and it’s also a game that could possibly blow up as the Canadiens can score, so this is a spot to have some shares. Reinhart and Barkov are together in all three situations; Bennett and Samoskevich are nice secondary pieces to mix in.
