NHL Building Blocks – February 28
Three games kick off our weekend tonight. Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – February 28
The Goalie: Jake Oettinger
The Kings rank in the bottom 10 in the league in goals scored while Dallas has allowed the fourth fewest. Oettinger (26-13-2 / 2.47 / .908) continues to be a top-tier goalie, and he’s in a great spot tonight to continue that level of play.
The Center: Nathan MacKinnon
90 points (including 67 assists) through 60 games and is at home in the altitude.
The Wing: William Nylander
33 goals on the season and averaging close to four shots per game.
The Defenseman: Adam Fox
Fox still can put on the points and he logs a lot of minutes, both of which he’ll need against a high-upside offense like the Leafs tonight.
The Value: Pontus Holmberg
Four goals and an assist in his last five games.
The Stack: TOR (Matthews-Nylander-Marner)
I like this grouping on this three-gamer not just because of their ceiling (which might be the highest on the slate) but because the Rangers have just not been good, and it’s possible that people gravitate away from the Leafs because of how good New York usually is. Little bit of a leverage spot here.
