DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – February 23

NHL Building Blocks – February 23

Most of the rest of the teams get back into action after a two-week break.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – February 23
The Goalie
: Dustin Wolf
Wolf (19-11-3 / 2.63 / .912) is about the only thing going right for the Flames, who find themselves right in the thick of the playoff race, and as such he’ll get some Calder attention.  They host the Sharks and their abysmal offense tonight.

The Center: Nathan Mackinnon
The league’s leading scorer fresh off of an MVP win (and tournament victory) gets a bad Blues defense on a back-to-back.

The Wing: Alex Debrincat
Detroit played yesterday, but they get the league’s worst team today; goal and assist in the Wings’ OT loss last time out to continue his hot play.

The Defenseman: Roman Josi
Always in play regardless of slate size or format just due to his phenomenal floor, and the Devils’ offense is very good, so he’ll be needed all over.

The Value: Marco Kasper
Playing very well on L1 with Larkin and Raymond.

The Stack: DET (Larkin-Raymond-Debrincat)
The Ducks’ defense is awful, and these three run the offense for the Wings (they scored all three goals yesterday and have combined for 71 of the team’s 157 tallies on the season, with all three scoring at least 22 times each).  They are all PP1, and the first two kill penalties together as well.  Detroit is hunting for a playoff spot, so they need every point they can get.
