Correlated Snipe #1 – Auston Matthews – Mitch Marner – Matthew Knies
The Leafs are hot, and the Columbus Blue Jackets are not. Matthews has had a resurgence since returning from injury, and Marner is having a career year in his contract year. Not to mention that Knies is coming out of his shell and is also getting top powerplay unit time. This is a good spot for the Leafs, and they will be chalky on a small slate. Don’t overthink this and play these guys in your single entry and cash game lineups.
Correlated Snipe #2 – Anze Kopitar – Adrian Kempe
There aren’t many great spots on this slate other than the Leafs, so I am going to attack the Panthers who are a long way from home. The Kings are a very solid team and the Panthers have been hit or miss of late. I am gambling on a miss here. Long hours, a long way from home, and playing a team that is no fun to play against. The Panthers defense is worse than last year and also banged up a little bit. I like the Kings as an affordable and contrarian stack tonight at home.
Grinders:
Jordan Spence – Talented young defenseman that plays a lot of minutes and gets powerplay time.
Kent Johnson – Had 3 points the last time he was in Toronto (I believe), and he is a talented kid on the top powerplay unit who loves the limelight of Toronto
