Tons of games here with several volatile spots to choose from. Usually with more games, comes a higher score to win, but also a lower cash line. The more options there are, the more likely it is for people to make mistakes. Our strategy in tournaments is to go for raw upside, so let me give you my favorite stacks.
Correlated Snipe #1 – Adam Fantilli – Kirill Marchenko – Dmitri Voronkov
Zach Werenski is obviously in play if we are going all out with this stack. If Sean Monahan comes back and reclaims his spot with the Russian wingers, then we can swap him and Fantilli. The Jackets have been a fun story this year, but have been particularly awesome at home. The Sharks are bottom-dwellers for a reason, and they do give up a ton of goals. Askarov is a good goalie, but he is due to regress at some point. The Sharks defense is too slow to keep up with the Jackets’ top players, which makes them have very high upside in this spot.
Correlated Snipe #2 – Nathan Mackinnon – Artturi Lehkonen – Jonathan Drouin
High octane game here with tons of star power. I am going with the home team here though. The Avalanche are healthy and figuring it out currently, and the Oilers can give up chances. The two best players in the world are going at it with something to prove to each other. The hockey world will watch with curiosity, and I expect goals here.
Correlated Snipe #3 – Filip Forsberg – Roman Josi – Steven Stamkos
The Predators have stunk this year and I have not been on them very much, and I even faded them in best-ball. With that being said, these guys are too cheap on Draftkings, and are at home against the even worse Chicago Blackhawks. The Blackhawks cannot win a faceoff, and this is a veteran Predators team that values puck possession. This is as good of a matchup as the Predators could ask for, and they get to pick and choose when to implement this line with last change on home ice.
Grinders:
William Eklund – He’s been super hot, and is an awesome young Swedish player. Gets to play with Celebrini and is on the top powerplay unit.
Morgan Frost – Even though I don’t like this game for fantasy, Frost is still a smart point per dollar play. He is on a line with 2 great wingers, and is the center on the top powerplay unit.
