DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – January 26

NHL Building Blocks – January 26

A small slate of just four games wraps up this week.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – January 26
The Goalie
: Connor Hellebuyck
At this point in the season, the Vezina is likely Hellebuyck’s (30-7-2 / 2.02 / .926) to lose, and tonight his prowess should be on display as the Flames’ offense just isn’t good, having scored the second fewest goals in the league.  This is the spot to either go heavy on or fade, but he’s in such a good matchup.

The Center: Tomas Hertl
Six goals and six assists during his eight-game point streak, and Florida tonight is on the second half of a back-to-back.

The Wing: Kirill Kaprizov
Played 16 minutes in his first game back since missing a month, and tonight this is a prime spot for him to regain his MVP-esque form from before he went out.  50 points in 35 games.

The Defenseman: Rasmus Andersson
Having his usual solid season (18 points through 46 games, but he averages over four shots and blocks combined each game), and the Jets are a tough opponent, so he’ll be needed all over.  Solid floor as he plays all three situations.

The Value: Frank Nazar
Three-game point streak and up on L1 with Bedard; Blackhawks are high on him.

The Stack: MIN (Kaprizov-Rossi-Boldy)
Mix and match these three who are in the best matchup on the slate (and could go a tad overlooked with a few of the other more high-profile stacks tonight).  Chicago’s defense is bad, allowing the fourth most goals in the league.  Eriksson Ek and Zuccarello are solid secondary pieces.
