DFS NHL Snipes and Grinders for DraftKings and FanDuel – 12/9/24

Crappy Monday slate of hockey with only 3 games on it. This is not surprising with the NHL not wanting to compete with Taylor Swift and the NFL. No cheap grinders today on a small slate, because I want our members to have that edge. Become a member of the DFSARMY, seems bad if you don’t want to be a part of our awesome community. Now, it’s stacking time!

Correlated Snipe #1 – Tage Thompson – Alex Tuch

The Red Wings have lost 5 games in a row and now they are headed to the fast and determined Buffalo Sabres. Tage has been tearing it up and has to be pissed having been left off of the team USA 4-Nations roster. He may let his shot do the talking here as Dylan Larkin made that team and he is captaining a significantly underwhelming and disappointing Detroit team. The Sabres can score at will, and are very hungry to make the playoffs for the first time in literally forever. Tuch is awesome and plays top powerplay and penalty kill minutes as well. Buffalo is determined, skilled, and fast to pucks, and Detroit has looked slow and unmotivated.

Correlated Snipe #2 – Vincent Trocheck – Artemi Panarin

Oh boy. Connor Bedard is awesome but he is their number 1 center and wins about 30% of his faceoffs. That is a horrendous number. Trocheck is one of the league’s best over the years on the dot, and Chicago can’t win faceoffs or control the puck to save their lives. Panarin is Panarin and is amazing and everything, but I think he can do whatever he wants here with these puck possession metrics. After trading their captain, the Rangers have looked motivated, and this line has been hot in the last couple of games. Panarin also has a revenge narrative here, as Chicago traded him years ago to Columbus for Brandon Saad and a bag of Skittles. This is a chalky stack, but it is good chalk this go-around.
