NHL Building Blocks – December 27
Welcome back from the holiday break! Let’s dive in!
The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines. These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.
Starting Lineup – December 27
The Goalie: Adin Hill
Vegas is on the road against the Sharks and has the best odds (around -240) for the victory tonight. Hill (15-5-2 / 2.61 / .905) has been his usual solid self as well, so I have no issue rolling with him in any contest.
The Center: William Nylander
(Center-eligible on FD) Six goals and six helpers during his seven-game point streak, and he’s tied for second in the league with 23 goals. Toronto gets a porous Detroit defense that just fired its head coach.
The Wing: Mikko Rantanen
Four goals and 13 assists during his nine-game point streak and is tied for second in the league in scoring with 52 points. Utah’s defense is not scary.
The Defenseman: Zach Werenski
He is good in all facets (35 points in 35 games while leading the team with 124 shots); plays almost 27 minutes a night as well. Starting to make his way into the conversation for best defenseman in the league.
The Value: Teuro Teravainen
Goal and nine assists in his last five games.
The Stack: TOR (Matthews-Nylander)
Love this duo tonight as they’ll have an extremely high floor and ceiling facing a bad Detroit team. Mix in Marner and Tavares as secondary pieces.
