10 GPP Options Under 10% Owned

Week 16 Main Slate

Welcome back to another season of 10 Under 10 article here at DFS Army! My name is Josh Thomas (@dfsupnorth), and I love GPP’s, and more importantly I love winning GPP’s. My DFS Motto when it comes to playing contests each week is very similar to famous philosopher Richard Bobby’s quote “If you ain’t first your last” (and it even rhymes with it)

“First or last, I ain’t here to min cash!”

We know through back testing in our Domination Station Optimizer, that winning lineups in the biggest GPP’s almost always have multiple players in their lineup under 10% owned and often even one or two guys sub 5%. Which ones do we play though, because being low owned isn’t enough to get you over the hump, they actually have to be good! This article each week will help you identify 10 players who have GPP winning upside based on all the underlying metrics AND are low owned!

NEW this year, I will have 5 players from Draftkings and 5 players from Fanduel, some might be elite low owned plays on both sites and if they are you can be sure that I’ll note that. I’ll also have a streamer special defense for you to put in to your lineups!

NOTE: Ownership are based on time of writing, I will do my best to update through the week, but injuries could significantly change ownership projections so make sure you are paying attention!

Week 15 Recap:

Draftkings:

Aaron Rodgers – 30.06 pts | QB4 | 5.56x Value

David Montgomery/Jahmyr Gibbs – 7.5 pts/28.4 pts | RB27/RB3 | 1.07x/3.78x Value (MONTY injured  in 1st half)

Brian Robinson Jr. – 11.7 pts | RB18 | 1.9x value

CeeDee Lamb – 29.6 pts | WR6 | 4.05x value

Devaughn Vele – 0 pts | WR1000 | 0.0x value

Fanduel:

Bryce Young – 13.96 pts| QB19 | 2.1x value

Tua Tagovailoa – 6.84 pts | QB25 | 0.8x value

Rhamondre Stevenson – 9 pts | RB22 | 1.4x value

Jameson Williams – 11.2 pts | WR24 | 1.8x value

Stone Smartt – 5.5 pts | TE15 |  1.2x Value

1.46x on Fanduel  and 2.72x on Draftkings! Crushed on DK as that return includes Montgomery who got hurt in the first half and a big fat zero from my boy Devaughn Vele.

Got back on track with Aaron Rodgers this week who was the 2nd nuts in the milly maker (was the nuts until Goff knocked him off).

Bit of a weird week with random TE’s smashing, and Josh Allen going for a million points, we also had multiple injuries that continue to change the DFS/Fantasy landscape every single week.

One thing to always note though is that, chalk is chalk for a reason. Players that are highly owned are highly owned because they are great plays. What we are looking for is that diamond in the rough that differentiates you from everyone else and brings you to the top of the GPP. Sometimes though, we gotta kiss a few frogs before getting to the princess!

Below you will find my favorite GPP plays on DRAFTKINGS under 10% owned to help you gain leverage on the field and hopefully take down a big pay day!

Mac Jones QB Jacksonville Jaguars

Ownership: 3.3%

Salary: DK $5200

As I’ve said in this article a million times, you don’t come here for me to tell you that the chalk QB’s are  an elite play. You guys know who the studs are and if you look at the DFS Army Chalk Board you can clearly see who the good QB plays are because 90% of the time, QB chalk is good chalk to eat.

That being said, we know from backtesting that low owned QB’s often show up in the Milly Maker winning lineups, especially ones that are in high total games that are somehow going overlooked. Ownership projections are again fairly flat right now among the QB’s so it’s not like ANYONE is a chalk bomb BUT, there are guys trending towards lower ownership that I think have massive upside in this spot and are currently trending towards low single digit ownership.

Mac Jones is…good? Maybe better than T Law?! That sounds blasphemous, but he looked like it last week and gets a prime matchup against the Raiders this week.

31/46, 294 and two tuddies against a pretty solid Jets D, yeah he threw 2 picks but that’s to be expected. He’s now gone over the 20 DK point mark in two of his last three games he’s started and I expect that to happen again here.

Massively underpriced for the game environment, and I can’t believe he’s not higher owned currently.

Brian Thomas Jr. is the prime stack piece, I’m not in love with Brenton Strange at TE like everyone else is this week, so my secondary stack would be someone like Parker Washington who is the WR2 here and cheap as well.

Devon Achane RB Miami Dolphins

Ownership: DK 8%

Salary: DK $7400

Achane had a bit of a dud last week, but so did all of the Dolphins. Bounce back incoming here against a 49ers team whose season is over and having all sorts of culture issues.

Does most of his work through the air, so he’s a DK only play for me. If he can find the end zone he’ll put up 20+ points easily and think he has a 30 point ceiling, which would win you a GPP.

Aaron Jones Sr. RB Minnesota Vikings

Ownership: DK 7.18%

Salary: DK $6400

Too cheap for a guy that’s going to get a ton of volume here. We saw Akers get involved more last week to give Jones some rest, but it was mostly due to how much the Vikings were dominating.

Jones will get his regardless of game script and interestingly has been a bit more involved in the passing game of late, giving him a nice floor.

Seattle is a bottom third rush defense, and I think they get boat raced by the Vikings here, with Jones leading the way.

Dyami Brown WR Washington Commanders

Ownership: 2.76%

Salary: DK $3400.

Lots of super cheapies in the 10 under 10 this week, but Dyami Brown might just be my favorite. Since Noah Brown got put on IR, Dyami has been the WR2 in this offense, getting 4 and 5 targets in the last two weeks.

He’s mega cheap, and while McLaurin is the guy here, we could see Brown get in the end zone against the Eagles this week as the gadgety/crafty WR who isn’t paid as much attention. Mega cheap and doesn’t take a ton of volume for him to hit value, and the ceiling compared to his price tag is intriguing in GPP’s not only for him as a player, but the rest of your lineup as well.

Mike Gesicki TE Cincinnati Bengals

Ownership: DK 2.39%

Salary: DK $3300

Despite the losses, I just want every piece of the Bengals offense. Every week they are smashing and playing tight high scoring games. Expect that to continue here against the Browns who are floundering a bit.

Gesicki has had 3 catches in 3 straight games and is due to hit pay dirt at some point. Tee Higgins could be limited with an injury, so a pass catching TE like Gesicki would get an automatic upgrade.

TE has been a crap shoot all year so playing a cheap guy in a good game environment that is at least getting some value, seems to be the best GPP strategy.

Below you will find my favorite GPP plays on Fanduel under 10% owned to help you gain leverage on the field and hopefully take down a big pay day!

Aaron Rodgers QB New York Jets

Ownership: FD 2.84%

Salary: FD $7300

Playing with fire here going back to Aaron Rodgers, but he’s in another good game environment and wee saw what he can do last week when things are clicking.

Never count out a mad Arodg. His dust up with Ryan Clark this week was entertaining for all of us, but truly think it burns Rodgers and he will come out angry and throwing it all over the place against the Rams.

Love this game to go over the total and am very intrigued by guys on both sides. I think I’m going Wilson with Rodgers in a stack this week again as everyone is going to flock to Davante after the massive game he had, just looking to get a bit different.

Cooper Rush QB Dallas Cowboys

Ownership: FD: 1.96%

Salary: FD $7000

Rush has really started to look decent the last few times out and gets a prime matchup against the Tampa Bay Buccaneers who have been involved in multiple shoot outs of late. 3 TD’s last week and would have gone over 20 FD points had he not fumbled twice.

Lamb is the only realistic stack piece, and with that stack, you can afford anyone, especially if you throw in the guy listed below here.

Craig Reynolds RB Detroit Lions

Ownership: FD 1.9%

Salary: FD $4200

With David Montgomery out for the rest of the year, the assumption is that Craig Reynolds will step into a pretty decent sized role. He’s always been a great 3rd down/blocking back but has been efficient when given the opportunity to run. Those guys in Detroit, especially the lineman LOVE him, and I expect him to find paydirt this week against the Bears in Chicago.

MEGA cheap with a potentially decent sized role. Love that for GPP this week.

Cooper Kupp WR Los Angeles Rams

Ownership: FD 4.17%

Salary: FD $8300

Puka Nacua is an absolute monster, but should he be 4x the ownership of Cooper Kupp? I don’t think so.

Great leverage play on the field here with Kupp in a good matchup against the Jets who got beat up by the Mac Jones led Jags last week.

Last week’s dud (by the entire team) is going to keep ownership down. I expect this game to go over the total and both of these offenses to have some success. Kupp is a stud, don’t sleep on him here.

Jalen McMillan Tampa Bay Buccaneers

Ownership: FD 1.99%

Salary: FD: $5800

Said above that I love this game to blow up. I also love that it’s the hammer game, nothing better than watching your lineups fly up the leaderboard during SNF.

McMillan has stepped into the #2 role for the Bucs and the speedster has had a ton of success the last two weeks. Scoring three touchdowns on 13 targets and 9 receptions.

Dallas is a VERY mediocre secondary and with the attention being paid to Mike Evans, we could see McMillan get over 100 yards for the first time in his career at a super low price/ownership combo.
