Pretty small and weird slate here after a big Tuesday, which is usually the case on Wednesdays. There is one chalky spot that I like, and then we have to find the next stack to pair it with. Most of these matchups are fairly similar and that is the perfect time to use our domination station. Now, we stack!
Correlated Snipe #1 – Dylan Larkin – Alex Debrincat – Lucas Raymond
The Penguins got waxed at home by the Stars last night 7-1, and they get to play a second game of a back to back tonight. The Penguins have awful goaltending, awful defensemen, and are old. The perfect spot to just pile on here. The Wings play a super fast style of hockey that I don’t think the Penguins can keep up with. These top line guys also correlate on the top powerplay unit, and they are all affordable. Moritz Seider is a defenseman that you can add to this stack, because he is the powerplay quarterback for these guys. We will be stacking against Pittsburgh for the foreseeable future, and tonight is a prime example of that.
Correlated Snipe #2 – Clayton Keller – Nick Schmaltz
Utah usually peaks my interest but I never actually land on them. On a smaller slate at home, I can get behind them here. They make sense in general, but I will give them an even bigger boost if Spencer Martin is the goalie in Carolina. Utah can skate and score, so this is actually a little bit of a tougher matchup for Carolina. These guys will be low-owned, and I like how they correlate on the top powerplay unit as well. Sergachev is also in play as their top powerplay quarterback and late game puck mover.
Grinders:
Alex Kerfoot – Cheap top powerplay option for Utah. Also kills penalties.
Pavel Mintyukov – Cheap defenseman for the Ducks. Super young and talented. Plays over 20 minutes a game and isn’t affraid to block shots.
