DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – November 6

NHL Building Blocks – November 6

We’ve got a small three-gamer on the docket tonight.  How can we get different and how can we lean into the chalk?  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – November 6
The Goalie:
Adin Hill
Hill has been solid so far this season (5-2-0 / 3.15 / .874) but hasn’t quite hit his stride; still, he’s got some decent upside in this one as the Oilers continue to struggle offensively this season (2.38 goals per game at under 25 shots per, the fourth fewest in the league).

The Center: Dylan Larkin
Seven goals (leads the team) for the Wings’ captain, and a matchup against the rival Blackhawks is sure to bring out his best.

The Wing: Alex Ovechkin
Ovie has goals in four straight games (five total during that stretch) and is now on pace to break Gretzky’s record this season.  He’s up to seven goals and seven assists through 11 games, and the Preds’ defense hasn’t been that elite yet this season.  Ride the hot hand.

The Defenseman: Roman Josi
Any time Josi is on the slate, he’s viable in any format as his floor is ridiculously high and his ceiling is solid as well.  Through 12 games, he has 53 shots on goal and 22 blocks to go along with a goal and six helpers.

The Value: Ryan Donato
Points in five straight games (five goals and two assists during) and now up on L1 with Bedard.  Wings’ defense doesn’t intimidate, either.  Solid as a one-off or part of a Chicago stack.

The Stack: DET (Larkin-Kane-Debrincat)
This stack is the Wings’ highest-upside group, and the latter pair used to play for Chicago as well.  Chicago is just not a good team, and this Original Six matchup is usually a good one.  14 of Detroit’s 29 goals have come from this trio, and all three are L1/PP1 together.
