DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – November 5

NHL Building Blocks – November 5

Election Day brings us a slate of 11 games to distract us.  Who’s the popular vote tonight?  Who are the dark horse candidates?  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – November 5
The Goalie:
Connor Hellebuyck
Should be fairly popular tonight as the Jets continue to be the cream of the league early on, allowing just 30 goals through their first 12 games.  Hellebuyck (8-1-0 / 2.33 / .917) is playing as well as he’s played in his career, and Utah’s offense has some solid pieces but isn’t to that elite level quite yet.

The Center: Martin Necas
15 points (five goals) during his six-game point streak, so let’s ride the hot hand (especially as he may go overlooked).

The Wing: Kyle Connor
Nine goals in 12 games (and points in each and every contest thus far this season) and looks great so far.

The Defenseman: Cale Makar
Maybe obvious, but Makar is really good: he’s tied for the league lead in points with 21 and has at least a point in all 12 of the Avs’ games this season.

The Value: Adam Gaudette
Four goals in his last three games; the Sabres’ defense isn’t that elite. L4 even strength but centers PP2.

The Stack: COL1 (Mackinnon-Rantanen-Lekhonen-Makar)
This stack is expensive, but their upside is through the roof, so mix and match.  Mac and Makar are top two in the league in scoring, and Lehkonen had a great playoff run last season and is back healthy.
