DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – November 13

NHL Building Blocks – November 13

Solid five-gamer tonight, so let’s see where we can start our lineup construction (and no, they don’t all have to be named Alex, but they’re a good spot to start!). Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – November 13
The Goalie
: Adin Hill
Might have the best matchup on the slate facing the Ducks who have scored the fewest (31) goals in the league this season.  Hill (6-2-1 / 3.13 / .881) hasn’t been his usual self quite yet, but even on the road, he and the Golden Knights shouldn’t have a ton of trouble (and they’re around -190 favorites tonight).

The Center: Nathan Mackinnon
12 points in his last five games, and while he’s the most expensive on the slate, he probably has the highest ceiling as well.  Los Angeles comes into the altitude tonight.

The Wing: Alex Ovechkin
The Leafs are on the second half of a back-to-back and Ovie has five goals and three helpers in his last five games (and 10 overall on the season).  He’s on pace for 59 this season, which while most likely unsustainable would still easily pass Gretzky’s record by the end of the season.

The Defenseman: Alex Pietrangelo
13 points in 15 games and sees time in all three situations.  Vegas gets a bad Ducks team tonight as well.

The Value: Jordan Martinook
Five goals and an assist during his four-game point streak.

The Stack: DET (Dylan Larkin-Alex Debrincat-Patrick Kane)
Great upside for this trio who has combined for exactly half of the Wings’ 34 goals this season and who are facing a Penguins team that allows nearly four goals a game on the fourth-most shots on average.  Mix in Raymond and Seider as secondary pieces.
