DraftKings NFL Blueprint – Week 7

My name is DFS Spreadsheets (@dfs_spreadsheet on Twitter) and I’m a data analyst by trade. I love digging into the intricacies that give our players advantages no one else can deliver.

I’ve put together a matrix for Draftkings scoring for NFL. It’s called the Draftkings NFL Blueprint and it looks at how many Draftkings points each NFL team score and allow per game compared to the NFL average, at each skilled position.

I have each game separated so that it’s easy to see and break down who is in a good spot. The For columns show how many Draftkings points that team scores for each position per game compared to the league average. Green is good in the For columns.

In the Against columns, Red is bad for that team’s defense as it means they allow more Draftkings points than league average to that certain position. So when looking at a particular game, you want to find positions that are Green in the For column and Red in the opponent’s Against column. You’re probably thinking that “I wish there was an easy, quick way to find these good matchups”. Well, there is. I’ve already done that work for you in the Matchup columns. You want to target positions in Green in these columns.

I’ve also created a Game Stack Score metric that incorporates each Matchup in the game to find which games should be prime candidates for stacking for DFS purposes. Beside each Game Stack Score, I show the Game Stack Score Rank which shows where that game ranks for stacking purposes. The lower the Game Stack Score Rank, the better. Green is good for both Game Stack Score and Game Stack Score Rank.

The final column in the blueprint is the QB/WR Stack score. This combines the Matchup scores for QBs and WRs from the same team – again, Green is good for this column.

Let’s take a look at the matrix for this week and see what stands out. The entire matrix will only be available to our DFS Army VIPS

Even though this data is specific to DraftKings scoring, it can still be used as a guide for Fanduel, fantasy football, and player props
