DFS NHL Building Blocks for DraftKings and FanDuel – October 15

NHL Building Blocks – October 15

The season is officially in full swing, and we’ve got a great nine-gamer tonight, including what is sure to be an emotional evening in Columbus.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – October 15
The Goalie:
Jake Oettinger
Oettinger is good, the Stars’ defense is solid to elite, and the Sharks are still the Sharks (and are without Macklin Celebrini for a bit).  He’s playing like his usual elite self, allowing just three goals through his first two games (with a shutout in his last start). Like him in all formats tonight.

The Center: Jack Eichel
Goal and six assists through three games as his line is playing very well (as are the Golden Knights, scoring 15 goals thus far this season).  Road game against the Capitals tonight, but I like going right back to the hot hand here.

The Wing: Nikita Kucherov
Fresh off a league-leading 144 points last season and what does he do in the Bolts’ season opener?  Hat trick.  Don’t mind going right back to him here.

The Defenseman: Roman Josi
One of the best floor-ceiling combos on the blueline.  Two games this season and he has a goal, an assist, 13 shots on goal, and six blocks in 28 minutes of ice time per game.

The Value: Anton Lundell
With Barkov and Tkachuk out, Lundell has moved to center L2 with Reinhart as well as pairing with him on the penalty kill (and he’s still seeing time on PP2).  Panthers get one of the best matchups tonight against a bad Columbus team.

The Stack:  Columbus
It’s Columbus’s home opener where you’d better believe they’re going to be fired up to honor the late Johnny Gaudreau.  Any line works here for this pick, but any line with Sean Monahan stands out as the two players were close friends (and he signed with Columbus because he wanted them to play together).
