Defenses to Stream – Week 13 Fantasy Football

DFS Army’s Gthom goes over the defenses to stream this week. The defenses to stream listed below are normally found in at least 40-percent of leagues (prior to waivers).

Follow Gthom on the cesspool they call X, or Twitter, or whatever it’s called @GarettThomas.

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kyler Murray (1) is tackled by Los Angeles Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald (99) in the second half at State Farm Stadium in Glendale on Nov. 26, 2023.

Rams D/ST vs Cleveland Browns

Available in 91% of Sleeper Leagues

The Browns have been friendly to opposing D/ST’s over the last three weeks. Cleveland is allowing 12.3-FPPG (28th) and 3.1 (27th) fantasy points above expectation to defenses in their last three. For the season those metrics are 10.5 and 2.2, respectively. This likely stems from the turnover problem going on in Cleveland, they are the second most turnover prone team in the NFL with 23 on the season. They have also allowed 33 sacks and that is tied for the seventh most in the NFL.

Falcons D/ST vs New York Jets

Available in 88% of Sleeper Leagues

The Jets and Giants are both teams from New York and both should be attacked by your D/ST’s. Over the last five games the Jets have allowed D/ST’s to scored 12, 33, 8, 21, and 21 fantasy points, respectively. Adjusting for strength of schedule the Jets still allow 11.3 fantasy points above expectation in that five-game sample, nearly twice as much as the next team. The Jets have allowed 47 sacks (3rd) and given the ball away 20 times (T-6th). Top this off with quarterback Tim Boyle being a bad NFL quarterback and fantasy managers are setup for a solid opportunity in Week 13.

Buccaneers D/ST vs Carolina Panthers

Available in 81% of Sleeper Leagues

To beat the Bucs you have to throw on them, and the Carolina Panthers’ passing attack is anemic… To the tune of 173.3 passing yards per game. The Panthers have also allowed 43 sacks this season and that is the fourth most in the NFL. Over their last five games the Panthers have allowed 14.2-FPPG to opposing defenses (31st) and 6.3 fantasy points above expectation (31st).

Scoring has also been a problem for the Panthers over their last five games as well, they have not exceeded 13 points in a single contest (which was likely ammo to fire their former head coach, Frank Reich). The Panthers seem like a dumpster fire that won’t be extinguished any time soon. Fantasy managers should take advantage of these tumultuous times in Carolina.
