Welcome to a brand new NBA season. We have a lot of changes this year in terms of where players are however the one thing that never changes are the NBA injuries that happen.
The purpose for this article is to give you an early morning look at the injuries on the upcoming slate and how those players could impact your player pool. The most important thing to remember with this article is that while there is a lot of information here you will want to become a VIP Member for the most update and current information as this article will not change. This will give you access to our Discord channel for the #NBA-Breaking-News and #NBA-Coaches-Notes which will have all the up-to-date information as we get it. Not a member? What are you waiting for?!
A quick reminder here as we roll into the new season with so many changes to rosters some of the usual information such as usage will be difficult to grab. However once we get more games under the belt, this information is going to get much cleaner.
Pelicans VS Knicks – 07:00 PM
Pelicans: No injury report yet.
Notes: Coming off a back to back I will be curious on how misses. I’m going to avoid speculation here as this is a relatively young team so chances are they will play everyone.
Knicks: Nerlens Noel and Luka Samanic are OUT!
Notes: These two have been out the entire season so far so nothing really changes in the way we attack this team for our player pool. Julius Randle has not been smashing his past couple of games but I am going to go right back to him here today. I also am looking to attack Fournier and Walker as well but not nearly as heavy. I will not be targeting Mitchell Robinson as JoVal will crush him.

Pistons VS Magic – 07:00 PM
Pistons: Jerami Grant is Probable. Isaiah Livers is OUT!
Notes: This could actually be the game to target as there is not much defense being played on either side. A note for the Pistons is you will see that Cade Cunningham has officially come off the injury report and looking to make his season debut tonight. I’m going to be paying close attention for any kind of minute restriction on him but if he is a full go, I like the GPP shots on him. The issue I am ultimately concerned with is the minutes amongst all of the Pistons as this is one more mouth to feed. The other thing to note is they appear to have realized what they have with Kelly Olynyk because after his start he played 25 minutes last game where the other games he wasn’t hitting 20 minutes. That likely changes tonight as well.
Magic: Chuma Okeke is Probable. Michael Carter-Williams, Markelle Fultz, Jonathan Isaac and E’Twaun Moore are OUT!
Notes: Overall it is the same injury report as we have been seeing. The one thing to highlight is we likely see Chuma Okeke return tonight however it doesn’t change much in the way I am attacking this game. Mo Bamba and Wendall Carter are working well together which should continue here tonight. Cole Anthony is a viable option as well as he has been having a pretty solid season this year however he is reaching a price that does make him unplayable.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Hawks VS 76ers – 07:30 PM
Hawks: Bogdan Bogdanovic is Probable. Oneyeka Okongwu is OUT!
Notes: It appears there is no real concern here with the current injuries. The major challenge we have is the Hawks love to play everybody which ultimately hurts a lot of these guys. You are really focusing on Trae Young and John Collins. Unfortunately I am leaving Capela off that list for a couple reasons: One his minutes are just low right now as they don’t need him to get a full run and Embid will likely beat him up. Everyone else here is just brutal to attack because of the amount of bench guys they use.
76ers: Joel Embid is Questionable. Grant Riller and Ben Simmons are OUT!
Notes: Look, Embid is questionable. Am I surprised? Nah, we will see him on this list for awhile now. Do I think he misses? Not at all, I’ll plan on him being in because that’s the way it’s been. Not only will I plan on him being in but I will likely have 30-35% of him tonight as he just doesn’t look phased by the knee injury.
Pacers VS Raptors – 07:30 PM
Pacers: No injury report yet.
Notes: This can get interesting as I expect we likely see LeVert and Brogdon back on the report. I don’t even want to speculate right now so make sure if you’re not a member, you join up today to get live updates in our discord channels. Just know Domantas Sabonis let us all down last night after crushing in the 1st quarter. I actually have no issue going right back to him tonight.
Raptors: No injury report yet.
Notes: We will likely see Siakam and Watanabe out here again and that doesn’t change anything as it is how we have been playing them this season. Fred VanVleet owes us all some money but don’t fade him tonight. This is a great bounce back matchup for him as the Pacers struggle against the guards.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Grizzlies VS Heat – 08:00 PM
Grizzlies: Kyle Anderson is Questionable. Dillon Brooks is OUT!
Notes: Will need to see the news here on Anderson as we move closer to lock. If Anderson were to miss I actually like Brandon Clarke to pick up some more of those minutes. However in the grand scheme of things I’m not thrilled with the matchup from the Grizzlies side. If you’re targeting anyone make sure you’re targeting Ja Morant who while in a tough matchup is just shredding this season.
Heat: No injury report yet.
Notes: We will need to wait for the injury report here. The biggest note will be around Bam Adebayo and his lingering injury. He was questionable going into last night however he played and he played well. Is it possible that being on a back-to-back we could potentially see him miss. If he were to miss Jimmy Butler is a core and Tyler Herro jumps again in play.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Bucks VS Spurs – 08:00 PM
Bucks: Donte DiVincenzo, Jrue Holiday, Brook Lopez and Bobby Portis are OUT!
Notes: These Bucks injurys have been brutal and nice all at the same time. First things first, Giannis will be a core for me tonight. There’s no way around it as he should just absolutely crush in this matchup against the Spurs. Who’s going to stop him? Secondly we can go back with Jordan Nwora here with Portis out. Kris Middleton will get some additional shots as well so no problem targeting him.
Spurs: Zach Collins and Doug McDermott are OUT!
Notes: Can I just say how great Poeltl has been this year? I will follow that by saying I am fading him here tonight. His price is rising and rightfully so and I just don’t love the matchup. The best way to beat the Bucks is by the 3 ball so I am likely going to target Lonnie Walker and Vassell here again. I know they hurt us last week but they’re worth some shots. Dejounte Murray, nothing really needs said about this guy however he has triple double potential and the main usage guy on this team.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Bulls VS Jazz – 08:00 PM
Bulls: Colby White and Patrick Williams are OUT!
Notes: Biggest news here will be Patrick Williams being out for the year. He was in the starting rotation which should put Javonte Green in there now. He should see big minutes but could he be another Patrick Williams where he plays 28 minutes and gets you 12 points? The other guy that I have interest here will be Troy Brown Jr who should see a minute uptick with this news. This doesn’t really impact Ball, Lavine, Derozan and Vucevic because they owned the usage anyways. These big four are just impossible to predict but it’s worth a stab at all of them.
Jazz: Hassan Whiteside, Eric Paschall and Miye Oni are Probable. Rudy Gay and Mike Conley are OUT!
Notes: The biggest news here is Mike Conley being out and what this opens up in the game. This should put Bogdanovic inline for some more shots as well as Donovan Mitchell who I love tonight without Conley on the court. Without Conley on the court last year, Donovan Mitchell saw 33.3% usage at 1.27 FPM and Jordan Clarkson saw 28.7% usage at 1.07 FPM. Remember that’s based on last year however they didn’t make a ton of changes that would impact that. Ingles and Bogdanovic are also in play as they should see some more shots but their FPM is below 1.00 so there is risk there.
Warriors VS Thunder – 08:30 PM
Warriors: Jonathan Kuminga is Probable. Damion Lee and Juan Toscano-Anderson are Questionable. James Wiseman and Klay Thompson are OUT!
Notes: We will really need to see what kind of role Kuminga plays and how much time he could see. Damion Lee and JTA could being out could also boost that. This could be a blow out but the Thunder have been a somewhat tough team and sticking around in matchups. I’m playing that it’ll be close so Steph Curry is an almost most in your player pool as he has 60+ FP upside along with Jordan Poole.
Thunder: No major injury news to note.
Notes: On the other side we don’t have any injury news to worry about here. The two guys I like the most in this matchup are SGA and Josh Giddey but then we look at the deeper players. Bazley finally had a decent game last time out but it’s impossible to predict his consistency. The big news I want to see is who will start at the center position because I want to attack that spot.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Nuggets VS Timberwolves – 09:00
Nuggets: No injury report yet
Notes: Waiting on the injury news the only guy I want to have is Nikola Jokic against KAT here tonight. Joker should be able to smash against him and his lack of defense. With the knee injury and being a B2B we could see him pop up as questionable but I’m not super worried he doesn’t play here. You can take some shots at Gordon and Porter Jr but other than Joker, they all eat each others usage up making them impossible to play or predict.
Timberwolves: No major injury news to mention.
Notes: With no injury news to report there are some solid options on this side of the ball. Karl Anthony-Towns, while he can’t defend a paper bag he could score in a hurry and be a big part of this offense. Anthony Edwards and D’Angelo Russell are also in play however not much love for them aside from a max 10% play. These 3 are the biggest contributors to this team but one guy I don’t mind taking some shots on is Malik Beasley who has been relatively quite this year. He has a big game upcoming, just a matter of when. Don’t go above 5% on him though.
—————————————————————————————————————-
Cavaliers VS Suns – 10:00 PM
Cavaliers: No injury news yet.
Notes: With no news, we wait. We likely see Okoro miss again making Osman and Love in play again. The biggest thing here though is this is an incredibly tough matchup and I don’t see the Cavs having a ton of high fantasy producers however if I’m going somewhere, it’s Evan Mobley who has been a great rookie this year. I could also see having shots of the two guards Sexton and Garland but not much more then that.
Suns: Cameron Payne and Dario Saric are OUT!
Notes: Payne and Saric have been out for awhile now so no major changes. I think Deandre Ayton could crush again tonight but I do have more interest in Devin Booker who has just been so quite. This isn’t a massive fantasy producing team as they are just a great team overall where everyone does something to help the team. We occasionally get a Booker explosion game and if it happens, I could see it against the Cavaliers. Especially as they are coming off a B2B against the Lakers.
