Full Court Press:
Toronto Raptors @ Charlotte Hornets
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Raptors, Kyle Lowry is playing all the minutes he can handle right now with this team being so banged up. The Hornets are not great on defense making this a pretty good spot for Lowry. Serge Ibaka had a bit of a dud last night but the Hornets have struggled with big men all season long. Rondae Hollis-Jefferson started last night and I would expect the same tonight, he makes sense as a lower-range option at PF. OG Anunoby has been pretty volatile as of late which makes him a GPP only play for me here. From the Hornets, Devonte’ Graham is playing a crazy amount of minutes right now and anybody playing that kind of minutes is in play for me. Terry Rozier is coming off of a 46, 41 and 50 point Draftkings outings in his past three games, I like going back to the well here, he is Devonte’ Graham lite to me. PJ Washington has flashed some upside recently and is priced nicely, I don’t hate him as a GPP option. Miles Bridges has been pretty volatile here so he’s GPP only until the consistency comes back.
5-star play: Kyle Lowry, Serge Ibaka, Terry Rozier
4-star play: Devonte’ Graham, Rondae Hollis-Jefferson
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: PJ Washington, Miles Bridges
Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Heat, Bam Adebayo scored 46.5 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season but his price is about where his production is right now. That said we have seen a massive upside from him, I won’t talk you off of him if you want to go there. Jimmy Butler is probable here after missing last game, he’s been so consistent all season I have no issue with him here either. Justise Winslow practiced yesterday which makes me think he’ll be active here, this will hurt Kendrick Nunn and Goran Dragic who is coming off of a 55 point Draftkings performance. Those three fall into deeper GPP plays on a big slate. From the Pacers, this isn’t the best matchup for Domanatas Sabonis but he’s been so consistent all season it’s tough not to like him. He’s an elite play in all formats if he is active. He gets an even bigger boost with Malcolm Brogdon possibly out. Aaron Holiday will likely start in Brogdon’s place if he is forced to miss again and would be a fine option. Jeremy Lamb seems like he may be the biggest benefactor of Brogdon being out, I’m willing to go back to the well on him. Myles Turner and TJ Warren are both GPP options.
5-star play: Domantas Sabonis, Bam Adebayo, Jimmy Butler
4-star play: Aaron Holiday, Jeremy Lamb, Goran Dragic
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: TJ Warren, Myles Turner, Kendrick Nunn, Justise Winslow
Washington Wizards @ Orlando Magic
Vegas Total: 210.5
Vegas Spread: Orl -5.0
Starting with the Wizards, Bradley Beal is questionable but I’ll operate under the assumption that he’ll play. As long as he isn’t limited he’s a great play and will be in control of this offense with all their injuries. He’s averaging 51.2 Draftkings points per game in three matchups with the Magic already this season. If he’s out we can go right back to Jordan McRae but he may be too expensive if Beal is in. Troy Brown is a bit too volatile for me to like in cash but makes for a nice GPP option. The same can be said for Isaiah Thomas, GPP only. Gary Payton is more of a GPP play if Beal sits, he’s been pretty volatile when given an opportunity. From the Magic, Nikola Vucevic has 40+ Draftkings points in seven straight games and gets a great matchup here, we’ve been targeting centers against the Wizards all season, so why stop now? With Jonathan Isaac out, Aaron Gordon’s minutes are more solidified but on a nine-game slate, he’s more of a GPP option but hasn’t really shown a huge ceiling this season. Evan Fournier always makes sense for cash games due to his consistency for me. Finally, DJ Augustin and Terrence Ross are good GPP plays to round out this team.
5-star play: Nikola Vucevic, Bradley Beal, Jordan McRae (If Beal is out)
4-star play: Troy Brown, Isaiah Thomas, Ish Smith, Aaron Gordon, Evan Fornier
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: DJ Augustin, Terrence Ross, Gary Payton
GPP Sleeper: Steven Adams, Danilo Gallinari, Al Horford
Houston Rockets @ Atlanta Hawks
Vegas Total: 235.5
Vegas Spread: Hou -8.5
This game has a massive implied total and will likely end up being the highest on the slate, meaning it will be full of fantasy gold (ideally). Starting with the Rockets, this is the ultimate spot for James Harden who already scored 85 Draftkings points on the Hawks once this season not to mention that he’s coming off an 83 point game last time out. Oh… and Russell Westbrook is out. With Westbrook off the court this season Harden has a 46.9% usage rate and 1.84 fantasy points per minute. He’s the best raw option on the slate in my opinion. Clint Capela should also be able to do whatever he wants here as well, he’s coming off of a 60 point fantasy game last time out. Austin Rivers and Eric Gordon will likely pick up Westbrook’s minutes and make sense as value options here along with PJ Tucker. From the Hawks, Trae Young scored 52.3 Draftkings points in this spot earlier this season, it’s a nice matchup in a fast-paced game, he’s an elite play. John Collins has proven massive upside already since returning from his suspension, it’s a tough matchup with Clint Capela, but due to the speed this game will play at I like him regardless. Kevin Huerter has 38+ Draftkings points in four straight games and should be able to get plenty of shots here. While Alex Len is an elite GPP option due to his upside and minutes he has been getting, but way too volatile for cash games in a tough matchup.
5-star play: James Harden, Clint Capela, Trae Young, John Collins
4-star play: PJ Tucker, Austin Rivers, Kevin Huerter
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Alex Len, Kevin Huerter, Austin Rivers, Eric Gordon
Chicago Bulls @ New Orleans Pelicans
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Bulls, Lauri Markkanen’s price has come back up after dropping 40 Draftkings points last time out, the Pelicans are one of the faster teams in the league and don’t play a lot of defense so I like him for GPPs. Zach LaVine has scored at least 42 Draftkings points in three straight and should have plenty of opportunities here, I like him even at an elevated price. Wendell Carter is out here which will open up minutes for Thad Young who performed well last game when given the chance, I like going right back to him. Lastly, Tomas Satoransky has come down a bit over his past couple of games but I don’t hate the idea of going to him for GPPs if you land in that price range. From the Pelicans, Jrue Holiday is out here which will open up shots and minutes for the rest of this team. With Holiday off the court this season, Brandon Ingram has a 31.1% usage rate and 1.34 fantasy points per minute. JJ Redick and Josh Hart will also see increased opportunity here and make sense as secondary options. Both Derrick Favors and Lonzo Ball are in great form here and make for great secondary options and elite GPP options in hopes they stay hot. Especially Lonzo who has 43+ Draftkings points in three of his last four games.
5-star play: Zach LaVine, Brandon Ingram, Lonzo Ball
4-star play: Lauri Markkanen, Thad Young, Tomas Satoransky, Derrick Favors, JJ Redick, Josh Hart
Deeper Value: JJ Redick, Josh Hart
GPP Sleeper: Derrick Favors, JJ Redick, Josh Hart
San Antonio Spurs @ Boston Celtics
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Spurs, LaMarcus Aldridge has come back down to Earth over his past two games but that could be due to a difficult matchup against Giannis and the Bucks, I don’t hate going back to him here. DeMar DeRozan is also in good form from a consistency standpoint, he makes sense as a cash game option. I love the price on Dejounte Murray who has scored 33+ Draftkings points in two of his last three games. From the Celtics, Kemba Walker is questionable here so we will need to keep an eye on this situation, but if he plays the Spurs have been pretty bad against point guards all season long, he scored 50.3 Draftkings points against them earlier this season. Jayson Tatum had a dud game last time out and has been pretty volatile as of late, I don’t love the price tag on him. Jaylen Brown scored 45.8 Draftkings points in this matchup earlier this season and that’s enough for me to have interest in him here. Gordon Hayward has played at least 34 minutes in four straight games which is a good sign and has scored 30+ Draftkings in seven of his last eight games, he’s a solid option here as well. Enes Kanter is playing great basketball right now and has 34+ Draftings points in three of his last four games. Lastly, Marcus Smart has played well with Kemba off the court, if he’s back he falls back into a GPP option.
5-star play: Kemba Walker, Dejounte Murray
4-star play: DeMar DeRozan, LaMarcus Aldridge, Jaylen Brown, Jayson Tatum, Gordon Hayward
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Marcus Smart, Enes Kanter
Denver Nuggets @ Dallas Mavericks
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Nuggets, I like the price on Nikola Jokic and this is an elite matchup against a Dallas team that is struggling with big men with Porzingis off the court. Will Barton has been ruled out here which may mean more minutes for guys like Monte Morris and Malik Beasley as they could be in play depending on the starting lineup here. Jamal Murray has been pretty volatile this season but has a 27.7% usage rate and 1.02 fantasy points per minute with Barton off the court. Lastly, Paul Millsap is a secondary option that I never mind as a filler play. From the Mavs, Luka Doncic draws a tough matchup here but has proven to be matchup proof. However, I would rather just find the money for Harden. With Kristaps Porzingis off the court this season, Doncic has a 39% usage rate and 1.94 fantasy points per minute. Maxi Kleber has at least 31 Draftkings points in three of his last four games and will help pick up minutes with Porzingis out. Dwight Powell has at least 25 Draftkings points in seven of his last eight games and is in the same boat as Kleber.
5-star play: Luka Doncic, Nikola Jokic
4-star play: Dwight Powell, Maxi Kleber, Jamal Murray, Paul Millsap
Deeper Value: Monte Morris, Malik Beasley
GPP Sleeper: Dwight Powell, Tim Hardaway
New York Knicks @ Utah Jazz
Vegas Total: 218.5
Vegas Spread: Utah -11.0
Starting with the Knicks, this is a very difficult matchup for everyone on this team so guys like Julius Randle, Elfrid Payton, RJ Barrett, and Mitchell Robinson, the guys we usually look at, are all GPP options at best. That’s really all I have from this Knicks team, nothing exciting to me. From the Jazz, I don’t love the price tag on Donovan Mitchell but he really should be able to do whatever he wants here, the price makes him a GPP only play for me. Rudy Gobert continues to play 37-38 minutes per game and gets a great matchup here, it’s tough not to like him here. Both Joe Ingles and Bojan Bogdanovic are playing well with Mike Conley off the court, they make for nice options as well.
5-star play: Donovan Mitchell, Rudy Gobert
4-star play: Joe Ingles, Bojan Bogdanovic, Julius Randle
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Mitchell Robinson, Elfrid Payton
Milwaukee Bucks @ Golden State Warriors
Vegas Total:
Vegas Spread:
Starting with the Warriors, we have a good amount of injury news to sort thru here. D’Angelo Russell is out again here. With him off the court, this season Alec Burks leads the team in usage at 24.1% and over a fantasy point per minute which puts him firmly in play. I also like Damion Lee to take a good amount of usage in this offense with his recent production. Marquese Chriss was let go from the team which will likely mean more minutes for guys like Glenn Robinson but would like him more if Draymond Green was out again. Willie Cauley-Stein played great last game and I would expect his minutes to be around 30 here, I like him at this price tag. From the Bucks, Giannis Antetokounmpo has an insane 36.5% usage rate and 1.85 fantasy points per minute on the season, he’s an elite play in hopes that he can find his way to 30+ minutes. Khris Middleton is back down to a playable price, he’s more of a guy that I want for cash games as he’s a very consistent player. Eric Bledsoe is slowly getting his minutes back, the Warriors are not great against opposing point guards so I like him for GPPs. Lastly, Brook Lopez continues to play good basketball and seems to have shaken his poor play earlier this season, I like him for GPPs in hopes that he can get hot from three.
5-star play: Giannis Antetokounmpo
4-star play: Khris Middleton, Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, Draymond Green, Alec Burks, Damion Lee, Willie Cauley-Stein
Deeper Value: None
GPP Sleeper: Eric Bledsoe, Brook Lopez, Glenn Robinson
