DFS Madness’s Strategy for Winning Draftkings NBA Tiers Lineups – Mar. 1st, 2019

Welcome to the DFS Army Draftkings Tiers breakdown! The Tiers breakdown will consist of a breakdown of all six tiers on Draftkings and why you should or shouldn’t play some of these guys! My name is Michael aka @MadnessDFS on Twitter, make sure to give me a follow as I’ll occasionally make updates to the article and just because I like to think I’m a great Twitter follow (high hopes). But, you’ll mostly find me in our VIP coaching forums where I provide detailed lineup maneuvers and answer all lineup questions. With that said, let’s get it started!

Tier One

Tier one isn’t as star-studded as it usually, but good options nonetheless. As you can see above, the Domination Station has Kyrie Irving to have the most points in this tier.  Kyrie draws a great matchup and scored 54 fantasy points in this matchup earlier this season. Kawhi Leonard is in a fine matchup and scored 44 fantasy points in their last meeting. He’s probably my third option in this tier. Bradley Beal is playing 40 minutes per night nowadays and seems like his floor is 40 fantasy points. He has scored 50+ fantasy points in four of his last five games. It’ll come down between him and Kyrie in this tier for me.

If you’re looking to create multiple lineups using your player pool, head on over to the Domination Station. This link will give you a quick tutorial on how to use the optimizer. The Domination Station is a great way to incorporate our projections with your own player pool to produce ideal lineups to help you play like an expert!

Tier Two:

The one guy that doesn’t jump off the page here for me is Damian Lillard. The rest of the guys in this tier draw great matchups, whereas Lillard’s is kind of meh. He makes for a fine GPP play however because of his ceiling. In three matchups with the Nets this season, Kemba is averaging 48.8 fantasy points per game. He can be a little streaky, but this is clearly a great matchup for him. D’Angelo Russell is in cruise control right now, scoring at least 42.25 in five of his last six games. Russell can be volatile as well, but again he’s been in great form. Lauri Markkaneen is playing 35+ minutes per night and has 60 point upside in this matchup. The Hawks are the fastest team in the league and this is an incredible pace up spot for the Bulls, there is no reason not to like Markkanen here.

Tier Three:

As I stated with Markkanen, this is a great spot for all the Bulls players, including Zach LaVine. LaVine is on a tear right now as well, scoring 40+ fantasy points in seven of his last ten games. He couldn’t ask for a better matchup tonight like I said this whole team is in a phenomenal spot. In the same game, Trae Young has scored 50+ in three of his last four games and finally seems to be coming into his own as an NBA scorer. Julius Randle draws the best matchup on the team as the Suns rank dead last in defense against opposing power forwards, he dropped 48.8 fantasy points in a matchup earlier this season. The Suns also rank 27th in defense against shooting guards, which puts Jrue Holiday in play, he was also near the 50 fantasy point marker in their previous matchup. I’m hesitant to go with Nurkic in this tier due to his difficult matchup with Marc Gasol, but he’s in play for GPPs.

Tier Four:

The Domination Station has De’Aaron Fox and DeAndre Ayton projected to score the most out of this tier. Fox is in the highest projected game total on the slate but draws a difficult matchup against Patrick Beverley. I tend to throw those matchups out the window in fast-paced games like this one because there is a little one on one defense. The Pelicans rank 21st in defense against opposing centers, Ayton put up 39 fantasy points in their earlier matchup. Lou Williams is also a guy I like, he leads this team in usage and is in the highest total on the slate, sign me up. Pascal Siakam, Kyle Lowry and John Collins are all GPP plays only for me.

Tier Five:

Anthony Davis is a fine GPP play, but again his minutes are just so insecure that I have a hard time going there. Eric Bledsoe is coming off a massive game against the Kings, I like the idea of fading him here hoping that people will do some point chasing. Otto Porter is my favorite option here, he has been destroying since joining the Bulls. If we take out the game where he left early with an injury, he has averaged 37.25 fantasy points per game as a Bull. They’ve shown that they’ll give him the minutes, and a matchup with Hawks is a cherry on top. Buddy Hield is a solid play in that high paced Clippers game that we talked about in the last tier. Middleton, Ingram, Harrell, and Horford are all GPP plays for me.

Tier Six:

This tier has a lot of solid options, but none that really jump off the board to me. Kyle Kuzma has scored 30+ fantasy points in three straight games, he is a decent option. If you know me, you know I love targeting the Nets with opposing Centers. In three matchups with the Nets this season, Zeller is averaging 31.2 fantasy points per game. The Nets rank 28th in defense against opposing Centers on the season. Kelly Oubre should have no problem putting up points in a matchup with the Pelicans, as they rank 23rd in defense against opposing small forwards. If I had to pick one from this tier it would be between these first three guys. The rest of the guys in this tier are secondary options for me and best left for GPP.
