We head into the business end of the Australian Open as Thursday’s DFS slate starts at 8:15 pm ET with round 3 matches and the Aces are back to hopefully find some value. The Aces are now 36-18 all-time and we definitely don’t play it safe with the massive favorites here. My basic lineup construction in all formats is to focus on the mid-range with one moderate underdog in a lineup and fill in with favorites. There will always be exceptions but that’s my base starting approach for every build. Make sure to jump into VIP Chat for any questions and I’ll be dropping the rest of my player pool.
The Aces are three free plays but in Chat, VIPs have aces to my, and all our coaches, player pool. Not a VIP? Fix that and use code SNIPER for 20% off.
One last thing – if you don’t already, please give me a follow on Twitter and subscribe to my YouTube channel at the links below. OK, enough of the intro, let’s get to it.

MY TENNIS ACES FOR JANUARY 17
(Slate Locks at 8:15 pm ET)
ACES ALL-TIME RECORD: 36-18 (66.7%)
Main Cilic ($9,300) – Maybe a little head-to-head biased here but Marin Cilic absolutely owns Verdasco, going 5-0 and dropping just a single set in those matches. Cilic’s can be a bit of a head case at times but his big serve can bail him out as well as provide a nice floor/ceiling combo for us DFS players. He’s a -333 favorite with a big serve, good form, and amazing head-to-head history – sign me up.
Caroline Garcia ($8,500) – Caroline Garcia checks in at too good of a price for her current odds and I believe she is simply a better player than Denise Rose Collins. Collins picked up a good win in the opening round against Goerges and has won four-of-five. But prior to that she finished last year on a 2-9 skid and really struggled against opposition of any quality. We’re still waiting on a deep major run from Garcia but the 19th ranked player has cruised early this week and at her best she could cruise again…if that doesn’t happen I still expect a close match at her mid-priced salary.
Andreas Seppi ($7,200) – Andreas Seppi is scorching hot, with a 6-1 run and an appearance in the ATP Sydney final in the week before the Aussie Open. He rolled through Jordan Thompson in his home country last round and handled #34 Steve Johnson to start the event. He takes on Frances Tiafoe who broke a six-match losing streak with back-to-back wins this week. Seppi is cheaper, in better form, has been serving very well, and passes the eye-test a little better than Tiafoe. Close match but at $7,200 I can’t pass up this price-tag for Seppi.
That’s it guys and girls! Jump into VIP chat and find me to talk about the slate and definitely let me know how we can improve our Tennis coverage at DFS Army.
