NFL PRESEASON DFS:
Only DFS degenerates play NFL Preseason DFS, right? Probably…but there is reason for you to join them this year. When people were scoffing at the idea of playing WNBA DFS “if there’s money to be made, you know we’re playing” and the NFL Preseason will be no different. So if you are reading this, you already have an edge over most DFS players!
One main reason to play NFL Preseason, you’ll get a chance to re-familiarize yourself with the NFL DFS game. Also, it’s a fun and great way to build a bankroll cushion. On Draftkings the last 2 NFL Preseasons, I played $41.25 of entry fees and won $306.00, which gave me a great bankroll for the NFL season.
Preseason NFL Quarterbacks
Bears depth chart:
1.QB | Mitchell | Trubisky | CHI |
2.QB | Chase | Daniel | CHI |
3.QB | Tyler | Bray | CHI |
Matt Nagy takes over in Chicago and he brought two ex-Chiefs to back up 2nd year starter QB Mitch Trubisky. The first one, Chase Daniel, has been a popular preseason QB over the years. The other is Tyler Bray. In KC, last preseason, Bray was the 4th wheel and played sparely behind Mahomes. But I’d expect Bray to play most snaps of the 3rd and 4th quarters.
Ravens Depth Chart:
1.QB | Joe | Flacco | BAL |
2.QB | Lamar | Jackson | BAL |
3.QB | Robert | Griffin III | BAL |
4.QB | Josh | Woodrum | BAL |
Flacco is NOT expected to play. As of now, RG3 will be starting over rookie Lamar Jackson. So your looking at Jackson or Josh Woodrum getting the most QB snaps. I am guessing that Jackson should get most of 2nd and 3rd quarter, Woodrum mop up duty. Both a very athletic QBs but Jackson will be more popular and in deep GPPs, Woodrum can make a difference. Thankfully with a one game slate you can play more than 1 QB and I think Jackson/Woodrum pairing is the way to go.

Hall of Fame Game Running Backs

RB | Jordan | Howard | CHI |
RB | Taquan | Mizzell | CHI |
RB | Michael | Burton | CHI |
RB | Benny | Cunningham | CHI |
RB | Tarik | Cohen | CHI |
RB | Ryan | Nall | CHI |
Running backs during the preseason can be very volatile but can provide an edge if you find the trend. Michael Burton is a FB. Howard and Cohen are the season starters and 3rd down back, but Nagy hasn’t declared if they will play. If they do, it won’t be more than a quarter. The trend I noticed last season is that you want the back that will eat up clock at end the game. (RB3 or RB4) That leaves us with Ryan Nall, Taquan Mizzell, Benny Cunningham. Mizzell is an ex Raven, so if you like a narrative, he’s your guy. The talk of Bears camp has been Ryan Nall. He’s listed as a fullback on some depth charts but he’s in the mix to close the game. Nall’s name is all over the internet and if you want to fade him, because of ownership, I don’t mind.

The Ravens have one of the most frustrating backfields to figure out during the regular season, well they only gets worse in the preseason. Kenneth Dixon isn’t playing. Starters Alex Collins and Buck Allen should rotate the first quarter. From there, it’s three rookies trying make the team. It’s a wait and see approach and in this one game slate, you have options elsewhere.

The WR/TE spot for the Bears has a few rookies that will be playing most of the second half. However 2nd rounder Anthony Miller, should get some snaps most of the first half. Kevin White and Taylor Gabriel will get the start and could see a few targets early but don’t expect more than a quarter. Rookie Javon Wims and Sophomore WR Tanner Gentry will have a chance to get plenty of targets against 3rd & 4th strings.

Baltmore overhauled their recieving corps this offseason adding Michael Crabtree, John Brown, and Willie Snead, but I doubt they play. So now we can move on to the likes of Chris Moore, DeVier Posey, Breshad Perriman and Jordan Lasley. It’s going to take a game to see who is the top target but if your looking for a high upside it’s at the TE spot, Nick Keizer. He’s one of the few healthy TEs and could see a red zone target.
HOF Game NFL Defenses and Kickers
K | Justin | Tucker | BAL |
K | Cody | Parkey | CHI |
Kickers are people too, right? Justin Tucker is always a reliable leg in DFS, this slate he might not be. The problem is that the Ravens backup punter Kaare Vedvik, ex Norway soccer player, is expected to kick per the Raven’s special teams coach. Cody Parkey is the only kicker I can find on the Bears roster. So if you’re into playing kickers, Parkey is your guy.
On DK showdown, they added the DST units. I guess trying to figure out which 4th string LB to play was too much. The defenses, however, make for an interesting play since they are a “player” that will get maximized playing time. It’s the preseason, so turnovers, sacks and craziness can happen, playing both or one defense is a great option on DK.
