NHL Building Blocks – April 15

NHL Building Blocks – April 15

Eight games on the slate as we begin our final few days of the regular season, and there are still a couple of playoff spots to be had.  Let’s dive in!

The premise of each article in this series is to feature starting spots (building blocks) for your lines.  These are plays that are cash-viable as well as GPP-worthy and can be considered in all contest formats.

Starting Lineup – April 15
The Goalie:
 Stuart Skinner ($8500 DK / $8400 FD)
Best spot on paper tonight; the Oilers still have a shot at a top-four seed (and home ice for the first round), and they can take a step toward that with a win at home over the league’s worst team.  Skinner (35-15-5 / 2.58 / .907) has been good all season, and he’s playing well, having won six of his last eight starts.

The Center:  Sidney Crosby ($8000 DK/ $8600 FD)
Four goals and three assists in his last five; don’t mind being overweight on him here as the Pens are fighting for their playoff lives.

The Wing:  Lucas Raymond ($4400 DK/ $5900 FD)
Leads the team in scoring with 69 points; four goals (17 SOG) and four assists in L5 and the Wings are hanging on by a thread.

The Defenseman:  Noah Dobson ($6300 DK / $7000 FD)
Four goals and four assists in his last five games; missed the last couple of games and could miss tonight, but the Isles can clinch a spot with a win.

The Value:  David Perron ($3600 DK / $5000 FD)
Goal and five assists in his last five games; L2/PP1 and having a nice finish to the season.

The Stack:  DET1 (Larkin-DeBrincat-Raymond)
The Wings need to win out, and they finish the season with a home-and-home against one of the worst defenses in the league in the Canadiens (26th in GAA and 24th in penalty killing along with giving up the third most shots per game). Detroit is top 10 in both goals per game and power play, and they’ve scored five goals in each of their past two games, both of which they needed points from.  Mix and match these as they’re L1/PP1 together and add in Kane and Perron as secondary pieces.

The Builder:  DET/EDM ML parlay
